Du du ke #15 - Revelry
AYLØ, Kid Cudi, Icona Pop, Sofi Tukker
TMT: I’ve been dancing all week and I think we should make a dancey playlist this week.
Timi: I haven’t been dancing all week so I will not be making a dancey (?) playlist this week.
TMT: Could you at least think about it?
Timi: yeah sure I’ll play with the idea.
TMT: That’s awesome man, thanks.
This Sh!t - AYLØ, LMBSKN: This is a serious contender for my favourite AYLØ song. That position has been held by LITT! for quite a while. I’m also a huge LMBSKN fan, just listen to the production yourself and see if you don’t feel *something*. - Timi
Weirdo - NoMBe: “Only a weirdo could love someone like me”. Fam. It’s true though. This song is as cute & beautiful as you can imagine - Timi
Just What I Am - Kid Cudi, King Chip: “Neighbors knockin’ on the door, asking can we turn it down// I say, "Ain't no music on" she said, "Naw, that weed is loud" is why this should be the new American anthem. - TMT
RUNAWAY - half•alive: This song is from FIFA 20. It’s exactly the kind of amazing song you expect to be in FIFA. It’s been my running jam for most of the lockdown. It’s very fun and reminds me of The Script, but like in a good mood but not in a derivative way. - Timi
You Can Call Me Al - Paul Simon: I like this song for a number of reasons. The first one being that it wasn’t popular when it came out and then people learned to love it after “Graceland” dropped. Timi initially wasn’t a fan of it and now he loves it. The second reason is that it’s a cute way to document a midlife crisis. - TMT
Get Lost - Icona Pop: There are not many songs that make me miss driving as much as Get Lost. It’s SO damn hype. “Let's get lost, drive all night. Leave this whole fucked up world behind”. Man, I miss that. I need that. - Timi
You Can Do Magic - America: I’ve been a fan of America since before I can remember because they kind of make lazy songwriting an art (Kind of like actual America haha). It works especially well on hopelessly optimistic love songs.- TMT
Swing - Sofi Tukker: This is honestly my favourite song on this playlist. It gets me SO hype and the only word of the lyrics that’s English is the “title”. The rest is in Portuguese. It’s an amazing song to get fucked up too & dance like no one’s watching.
Uh Uh - Kaelin Ellis: I dare you to not bop your head. Them no born you well. - Timi
Frontin’ - Pharrell Williams, Jay Z: It’s been a really long, really tough year and I feel like it’s my responsibility to remind you to keep listening to one of the edgiest pop songs ever recorded. - TMT
Farrah Fawcett Hair - Capital Cities, André 3000: I remember watching a Johnny Bravo episode about Farrah Fawcett when I was a kid and thinking she had funny hair. Anyway, there’s a song about it and all the other great things in life. - TMT
Work It Out - Willow Beats: This song starts out like a ringtone but oh. my. god. the vocals come on, the beat drops and it’s just wow. It’s amazing. - Timi.
Little Secrets - Passion Pit: Imagine if the Enid Blyton-esque fairies in your garden could make gospel music. That’s what this song sounds like. -TMT
Better - Jack Garratt: By now you’ve probably noticed that I've been trying to make you dance. This is my final effort. Please make sure you dance safely. Du du ke is not responsible for any injuries sustained in revelry. - TMT
